Loading ...My Worst Secret is…
I am a recent college graduate with a B.S. and a Masters degree. However, due to the recession I am unable to secure a job. My husband has a decent job that pays the bills, but with very little left over. If we are short it goes onto a credit card. To supplement this I’ve turned into a shoplifter.
Slowly, over the last 4-6 months I’ve started to steal from the local Walmart. It started small with a few higher priced grocery items or packs of soda. The cashier usually doesn’t notice the sodas on the bottom of the cart or something small under your purse. Recently I’ve started to get much bolder. Filling my whole cart with groceries (reusable grocery bags are the key!) and walking out the door like I’ve just paid. I haven’t paid for groceries in over a month.
The last few weeks I’ve even started taking things I really don’t need but just want. Mattress pads, suitcases, kitchen gadgets, and other things. I’ve upgraded all sorts of things around our home to a newer/better item from the old college/single things we acquired. I’ve also started stealing from clothing stores, bookstores, and even as I write this I’m planning on a “spree” tomorrow when I intend to try and acquire a bridesmaids dress.
I don’t feel bad about this because I only steal from Walmart and other large chain stores, never from family owned stores. Also I’m avoiding a high credit card bill. I intend to keep stealing now that I’ve got the skill and guts to even do it. If I get caught it will suck but I’ll deal with it or run.

this is a perfect example of human nature. starts out not too bad, just trying to get by in a difficult time…but just turns into greed.
Just that fact that your sophistication has grown from small items under your purse to large items like suitcases, mattress pads etc means you have a real talent for this kind of thing. What you could do is work as an anti-theft consultant and or be a spy and steal something worthwhile to national security, like osama’s underpants or something. Bravo for not getting caught. Now join the big leagues where you talent won’t be wasted.
are you serious? You think it takes skill to steal stuff like this? People are so fucking stupid and can’t be bothered to stop things like this. As long as you look like you’re supposed to be doing what your doing, no one will stop you.
Talent… yeah right.. Walk into a car dealership and steal a corvette right from the showroom… that takes talent. Or walk into a bank and convince the bank teller to give you $500 completely legally. That’s talent.

Walmart is a fucked up company with horrible employee practices, shitty policies, and a propensity to drive small businesses out on their asses all for cheap pieces of plastic made in Taiwan. The end result is some housewife can save $1.50 on her kids back to school items instead of support American companies.

I worked for a good part of my early 20’s at Walmart and it was HELL ON EARTH; minimal pay, craptastic insurance, polluting and sucking the life out of the American dream. At times I felt GUILTY for working for them so I kind of think they have it coming but I’m scared you’ll get caught

Do what you need to do to provide for your family.
Boosting is very addictive try to stop before you get caught. I know its tough but getting caught is EMbarrassing for everyone that knows you.
